A Hundred Thousand Welcomes

A Hundred Thousand Welcomes was commissioned in 1997 by the Glengarry Highland Games Committee to mark the 50th anniversary of the Games, held annually in Maxville, Ontario.

The 60 page book covers the growth of the games from humble beginnings to a two-day event that draws 20,000 people. The North American Piping Championships are awarded there, attracting close to 70 competing bands. Other big attractions are the heavyweight sports, highland dancing, fiddling, concerts and the clan building where Scots can trace their ancestry.

At The Crossroads

At The Crossroads was written and edited by Bonnie in 2012 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Glengarry Pioneer Museum, located in Dunvegan, Ontario. The book traces the origins of the Museum from a one building site to today’s 12 buildings, housing more than 6,000 artifacts. The Museum hosts many events during the summer season, attracting more than 5,000 visitors per year.
